Bro. Huey P. Newton once said, "I think what motivates people is not great hate, but great love for other people."  In the spirit of love for others and of giving, Bro. Kevin Orantes organized a Sunday service outing to the Union Rescue Mission located in Downtown Los Angeles' Skid Row.

On November 27, 2011 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm brothers served close to 200 men, women, children and seniors who call the Union Rescue Mission home.

While many people serve shelters during the holidays, Bro. Orantes hopes to make the Union Rescue Mission a place that Sigmas in the Los Angeles area come to serve year round.  "They really need volunteers here at the shelter, especially after the holidays when nobody thinks to come."

With Kevin's vision, Sigmas will be a common sight at many more Union Rescue Mission Sunday dinners to come.
